Blue Fescue ‘Elijah Blue’ P9/C1

This variety grows into dense tufts of blue, narrow leaves. They keep their color all year round. The phenomenon of this species is that the worse the conditions under which it grows, the more intense the blue color of the leaves becomes. All because of the waxy coating on the leaves, which is a natural secretion that protects this species from harsh sun and water loss in dry periods. ‘Eliah Blue’ forms compact, dense clumps reaching 20-30 cm in height. The plant is completely undemanding to the soil, it does not cause any problems in cultivation. Resistant to pests, drought and frost. It stains most beautifully on dry, sandy and poor soils. In order for the leaves to color well, the grass should grow in light, sandy and poor soil. Fertilizing and watering is recommended in the first year after planting, because it causes the appropriate expansion of the tufts. Later, feeding is not recommended as it has a negative effect on the plant’s discoloration. To obtain a blue color, fescue must grow in a sunny place.
